Rather than moving locomotives to a fixed sand replacement station in the rail yard, Sand-A-Long can be connected to the locomotive for sanding while in transport or at remote service locations.
The system helps reduce the need to power down, disconnect locomotive power, or reposition equipment just to refill sandboxes. With the ability to operate using locomotive air or its own power and compressed-air source, Sand-A-Long provides a flexible option for supporting rail operations where fixed sanding infrastructure is not practical.
